This brain teaser is a great classic in Chinese culture, invented hundreds years ago. The nine linked rings, which are also called Chinese rings, is perhaps Chinese greatest mechanical puzzle.

Long analyzed by mathematicians, and now also by computer scientists, the puzzle consists of a looped handle that is interlocked with nine rings.
